Clean Nutella
Ever since I was a child, I have been the ultimate nutella fan. My sister and I would convince dad to buy it, and sneak little spoonfuls of it while no one was looking (totally allowed, right?) Chocolate hazelnut is also one of my grandma's favourite things in the whole wide world, so it is always a much loved feature at special occasions!
As delicious as it is, it isn't the best for you. That's where my recipe comes in! Vegan, refined sugar free and gluten free, this clean version is just as delicious and more-ish as the original, but with less of the nasties our body doesn't need.
Spread this on toast, enjoy with slices of apple and banana, or whip this into your smoothies; this recipe is so versatile and incredibly delicious (or you may just want to eat by the spoonful heheh)
Happy eating! X

You will need:
1 1/2 cups hazelnuts
2tbsp cacao powder 2 1/2 tbsp pure maple syrup |
1/4 cup unsweetened almond milk
4 squares 80% dark chocolate (optional) salt |
Method:
- Preheat your oven to 200°c fan bake.
- On an lined tray, place your hazelnuts. Roast in the oven for up to 10 minutes, checking and tossing every few minutes to ensure they don't burn.
- Remove from oven. Tip the hazelnuts into the center of a clean tea towel, fold the tea towel over and rub the hazelnuts together until the majority of the skins have been removed.
- In a high speed food processor, blitz the hazelnuts until they form a fine powder. You are welcome to leave them a bit chunkier, if you would like some more texture!
- Then add the cacao powder, maple syrup, almond milk and melted chocolate. Blitz until a creamy, dark brown paste is formed.
- Have a taste, add salt to taste and add extra maple if extra sweetness is needed, or more almond milk to thin it down.
- Store in an air tight container in the fridge, and enjoy!
