2 Tbsp diced pickles
1 Tbsp finely chopped capers
2tsp worcestershire sauce
Juice of one lemon
400g Wattie’s Fries of your choice

1-2 eggs, beaten
1 ½ - 2 cups breadcrumbs of your choice
Oil, for shallow frying
400g frozen Wattie’s Garden Peas
2 Tbsp butter
Method
- Make the homemade tartare sauce by combining the mayonnaise, diced pickles, capers, worcestershire and juice of half a lemon. Season to taste, then set aside.
- Preheat your oven as per the fries pack instructions and cook as directed, or cook in an airfryer as directed, until golden and crisp.
- Whilst the fries are cooking, slice the fish fillets if needed, then season the flour with salt and pepper and use to coat the fish. Next, coat the fillets in beaten egg, followed by breadcrumbs. Set aside.
- In a saucepan, boil the peas until tender. Drain, then add the butter and mash to your desired consistency. Season to taste with salt, pepper and juice of the remaining lemon, then cover and set aside to keep warm.
- Place a large nonstick frying pan over a medium high heat with enough oil to create a 1cm high depth. Once hot, fry the fish fillets on each side until golden, crispy and cooked through. Set aside on a paper towel or cooling rack to drain.
- Serve the crispy fish alongside your cooked fries, smashed peas and homemade tartare sauce, and enjoy.
