Who here hears the word Paleo, and freaks out just a tiny bit? The Paleo diet is a little daunting.

“You’re going to miss pasta. Don’t even think about ordering a side of fries, potatoes are out. Oh, and what will you do without our Friday night movie and an ice cream ritual?!” But it really isn’t as scary as it sounds. Taking it back to basics, that is all it really is. Fruit and non-starchy vegetables in abundance, meat, eggs, healthy fats, and so much more. I can’t go without mentioning the deliciousness that is coconut yoghurt (it is sent from the gods, I swear).

But there is one challenge you think you may face if you choose to adapt to Paleo living; where do we I go out for lunch with my girlfriends AND what do I order?!

Sovereign are inspiring us to take charge of our lives and that’s why I have decided to round up 5 amazing eateries in and around Auckland City that offer delicious Paleo options, so you’re armed with choices to make!

1. Ebisu

Ebisu is a modern Japanese restaurant in the heart of Auckland. Renowned for their healthier options and dishes packed with flavour, Ebisu offer a Paleo bento box which has everyone talking.  Tuna ceviche with yuzu ponsu dressing, zuchinni noodles, grilled tiger prawns and salmon avocado sushi rolls are just some of the components you will find in the Bento box, and with multiple other options, there will be a dish to suit everyone’s tastes.

2. LOOP Restaurant

Set in Kingsland, LOOP names itself as one of Auckland’s first LCHF restaurants, with a large focus also on Paleo options. Offering both lunch and dinner, LOOP brings a modern and contemporary take on both of these lifestyles. Kingfish Ceviche with Mandarin Margerita, Blood Orange, and Shaved Fennel is just one of the options available, and even those closed off to the idea of Paleo dining will not be able to resist.

With these five eateries readily available to you, your home and social life will all tie into one easy, attainable way of life. Bonus, you get to enjoy amazing food and company at the same time!

We’re living in such a fast paced, modern world, health sometimes takes a backseat to the other things happening around us.  Not only is adapting our diet, becoming active and looking after ourselves important, we as the younger generation don’t tend to take interest or understand the importance of health insurance. After loving and caring for our bodies through living a Paleo lifestyle, exercising more or just changing what we value most in life, what better way to make sure you are totally looked after than investing in your future through the means of insurance.
